We are currently seeking an experienced CDL Class B Driver to join our Jamesville team. This position will involve driving to and from the Plants, Quarries and job sites in a safe and efficient manner. 

Main Responsibilities

• Operate truck equipped with a live bottom body to transport dump loose material such as sand, gravel, crushed rock bituminous paving materials.
• Conduct pre-trip/ post-trip inspection checklist on equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
• Handle paperwork concerning load tickets.
• Carry out detailed instructions but also must be able to use good judgement in decision making and be able to work without direct supervision.
• Must be able to oil, grease and fuel truck.
• Operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
• Comply with all NYSDOT rules and regulations.
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Overtime as required
• Nights as required

 

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb onto and up and down a vehicle several times a day.
• Must be able to sit in a vehicle and operate it for several hours without stopping.
• Must withstand vibration from the truck, road as well as noise from the truck engine, other equipment and other traffic.
• Must be able to use arms, hands and feet in repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform manual duties, such as sweeping/shoveling debris and rocks out of the truck bed, handle tailgate chains, binders and binding chains.
• Regularly required to lift/ move up to 50 pounds
 

Minimum Experience

• Valid NYS driver’s license- CDL B
• Experience operating dump truck
• OSHA 10 – (Construction)

 

Safety

• May assist the shop mechanics in preforming all necessary preventative maintenance to keep the unit operating in a safe manner at all times.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and regulations set forth by management.
• Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policies.
