Job Title: Sr. Manager - II / Consulting Manager CPG/Retail Practice
Location: NJC, New Jersey
Role Overview Seasoned Consulting Manager / Sr. Manager - II to join our CPG/Retail practice. The ideal candidate will bring 15 18 years of proven experience in consulting within the Retail, CPG, or Manufacturing sectors. This is a hybrid consulting delivery role , focused on strategic client engagement, domain-led solutioning, and execution leadership - not sales or P&L ownership.
We're particularly interested in candidates from companies like Cognizant (CBS), Wipro, Infosys , or similar consulting backgrounds, with prior roles as Managing Consultants or Consulting Managers (not general "Management Consultants").
Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Strategic Consulting
Lead discovery sessions and consultative workshops with client business teams.
Partner with stakeholders to define business challenges and shape executable roadmaps.
Act as a trusted advisor on digital transformation, omnichannel retail, operational efficiency, and customer experience strategies.
Develop strong, long-lasting client relationships based on trust and domain expertise.
Project Delivery Leadership
Own end-to-end project execution for consulting engagements.
Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and technology capabilities.
Collaborate across functional teams - including product, tech, and business - to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
Maintain a hands-on approach while steering project direction and problem resolution.
Business Growth & Opportunity Influence
While not a sales or revenue ownership role, the position requires identifying growth opportunities and collaborating with sales teams.
Shape proposals and strategic pitches in line with client goals and Altimetrik's value proposition.
Drive continued engagement through business value realization.
Thought Leadership & Capability Building
Stay updated on CPG/Retail trends, emerging digital capabilities, and evolving consumer expectations.
Develop internal frameworks, contribute to whitepapers, and represent the practice in client/industry forums.
Mentor junior team members and strengthen the domain capability within the practice.
Required Qualifications
15 18 years of consulting experience, with significant exposure to Retail and Consumer Goods (CPG) domains.
Strong project delivery track record across transformation initiatives, customer experience design, supply chain strategy, or merchandising.
Experience leading large, complex consulting engagements from discovery to execution.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
Deep domain knowledge in at least two of the following: Merchandising, Store Operations, Supply Chain, Digital .
Understanding of global CPG/retail market dynamics and how they apply to local strategies.
Familiarity with platforms and tools including SAP, Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS/Cloud solutions, and AI-driven decision support systems .
