Job Title: Data Analyst/ Architect BFSI Domain

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract on W2

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst / Data Architect with a strong background in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing enterprise data architectures, analyzing complex data ecosystems, and building robust data models that support business intelligence, regulatory reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives. The candidate should have hands-on experience with data strategy, data governance, and modern cloud-based data platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytical and operational systems.
  • Define data integration strategies across multiple source systems (core banking, financial applications, and insurance systems).
  • Establish data pipelines, ensuring data quality, scalability, and governance.
  • Drive data modernization initiatives using cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Snowflake).
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation for business insights.
  • Develop and automate reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
  • Support risk analysis, fraud detection, customer analytics, and regulatory reporting (Basel III, IFRS, AML/KYC, etc.).
  • Define and implement data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure data security, compliance, and consistency across platforms.
  • Develop data strategy roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Mentor junior analysts and architects on best practices in data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
  • 10 15 years of experience in data architecture, analysis, or engineering, with at least 8+ years in BFSI.
  • Proven experience in enterprise-scale data projects involving multi-source integration and governance.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • Snowflake / AWS / Azure Data Engineer or Architect certifications
  • Tableau / Power BI certification
  • SAS or SQL Advanced certifications
