Responsibilities & Expectations:
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to modify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and components at our Southland Electrical Supply facility in Burlington, NC.
- Provide repairs of circuit boards and other components for power equipment including circuit breakers and VFDs
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, diagrams, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Use a variety of hand and power tools including electric meters, electrical test equipment including oscilloscope and material handling equipment
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Provide drawings for circuit boards and relays as needed
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Some field service work as needed
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum of two (2) years working in an industrial electrical service repair position with switchboards, motor controls, E-houses preferred; electronics and/or computer repair is helpful
- Must be comfortable with electrical equipment and components and have mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Must have experience with circuit boards, electrical meters and electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes
- Soldering and 3D printing experience a plus
- Experience with providing solutions to equipment operational problems
- Read, interpret, and modify documents and schematics
- High degree of technical aptitude and math skills
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
