Job Summary

If you're   interested in the Entry Level Biologist job , then this is the best role for you! We are seeking a Biologist to support product development in plant biotechnology. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cellular and/or molecular biology, data analysis, and automation. Microscopy and imaging experience is beneficial but not required. Job Description

  • Perform high-throughput transient expression assays, including eukaryotic cell isolation and transfection/transformation from various tissue types using liquid-handling automation.
  • Conduct cell-based assays (luminescence, absorbance, imaging) using both manual and automated methods; prepare and deliver materials for downstream analysis.
  • Use data-visualization software (e.g., Excel, Spotfire) to perform analysis and compile quality-control reports.
  • Support team members in the transient expression assay workflow and collaborate on system-improvement experiments.
  • Learn automation programs and image-analysis routines to streamline workflows and troubleshoot automation errors with guidance.
  • Maintain and calibrate automation instruments and communicate with vendors as necessary.
  • Manage inventory and ordering laboratory consumables; maintain organized workspaces.
  • Prepare and perform QC analysis of reagents and buffers under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and waste-disposal protocols and represent the team in company-wide initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain the growth of plants for cell-based assay workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to fulfill plant tissue requests.

 

Skills Required

  • Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to cellular and/or molecular biology (plant biology experience is a plus but not required).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new techniques and processes.
  • Capable of assisting in experimental design and engaging in moderate to extensive problem-solving requiring original thought.
  • Able to read and interpret technical literature and prepare reports summarizing complex experimental results.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when needed.
  • S trong attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety and waste-disposal protocols.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience or non-degreed with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Shift: 08 : 30 AM

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary : $27.00 to $35.00 per hour based on qualifications.
