Job Title: Marketing & Communications Manager

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Industry: Nonprofit

Salary: $70,000–$75,000

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Hybrid

Job Description:

The Marketing & Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies that strengthen brand visibility and drive engagement. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role supports key initiatives including content development, social media, media relations, and promotional campaigns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing and communication strategies.
  • Create engaging content for newsletters, digital campaigns, and stakeholder outreach.
  • Manage and update the organization's website and social media platforms.
  • Design visual assets using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Draft press releases and coordinate media inquiries and coverage.
  • Ensure consistency in branding across all platforms and materials.
  • Support fundraising and development efforts with marketing collateral.
  • Track engagement metrics and adjust strategy based on performance.
  • Capture and manage photos and video content for communications use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging with organizational priorities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a communications or marketing role, ideally in a nonprofit, education, or community-oriented organization.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with graphic design and email marketing platforms.
    • Familiarity with social media management and website CMS tools.
    • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
    • Spanish language skills a plus, but not required.
