Dragons Academy is a fully accredited one-to-one learning school for grades K-12. We specialize in personalized education that empowers students to thrive through at-home, virtual, and in person one-on-one instruction, offering flexibility for families while ensuring rigorous, individualized academic growth.

Role Overview:

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking a passionate and reflective Social Sciences teacher to deliver highly personalized instruction in a one-on-one and at-home learning environment. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster foundational academic skills, and support students in developing confidence and independence in subjects such as history, civics, geography, economics, and sociology across middle and high school levels.

The right educator will:

• Create engaging lessons that build strong analytical, historical, and civic literacy skills.
• Foster curiosity and creativity through hands-on and interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver at-home and one-on-one instruction across core Social Sciences curriculum for grades 6-12.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on each student’s needs and learning style.
• Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and personalize learning.
• Collaborate with families to co-design individualized learning plans and ensure strong school-home connections.
• Foster a supportive and structured environment that nurtures student confidence and academic achievement.

Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in social science education, History, Political Science, or related field (master’s preferred).
• Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in Middle Grades Social Science 5-9 or Social Science 6-12 , OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in one of those areas within three years of employment start date.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience in middle and high school grades preferred.
• Strong background in social sciences instruction.
• Experience with interdisciplinary and project-based teaching approaches.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Self-Driven, reflective learner with a growth mindset .
• Must have empathy for students and enthusiasm for developing personalized, one-to-one learning relationships.
