As a Network Engineer in the Network Operations team, you’ll assist in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of varying complexity. You’ll drive the implementation process, monitor protocols and compatibility standards, and work with optical and IP based transport and ethernet. WHAT OUR NETWORK ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST

  • Integrating communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
  • Evaluating new products and performing network problem resolution.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of technical standards and implementing approved methods of procedure.
  • Contributing to designing corporate standards and developing network enhancements.
  • Working on projects / systems / issues of varying complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization.
  • Having hands on involvement in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.

Days are fast-paced, and a learning mindset is essential in Network Operations. As you troubleshoot network issues alongside a collaborative team of engineers, you’ll get to know all the various platforms Spectrum is responsible for. Our engineers leverage some of the latest technology such as optical, routers, and switches to overcome technical challenges. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Five (5) year of Network Engineering experience, and of Cisco and/or Juniper experience and Data network experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and / or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical skills: Intermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Physical Media (Multimode Fiber, Singlemode Fiber, UTP, etc.), bridging, switching, routing, ethernet and transport technologies and protocols.
  • Skills: Experience with Network Design, Network Architecture, Protocols and Network Topology.
  • Abilities: Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly. And use ticketing and software tools to support current operations.
  • Travel Ability: This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNP, OCP, NONC or other industry-specific certifications.
  • 3+ years of experience in optical transport deployment.
  • Experience with optical equipment such as Nokia PSS, Cisco NCS2015, and Ciena 6500.

The base pay for this position generally is between $70,900.00 and $139,500.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
