Job Title: Interim Minister/Pastor, Central Christian Church

Status : Part Time

Overview : The interim minister/pastor is responsible for providing pastoral leadership and administrative oversight of the church’s ministries, including worship, music, preaching, teaching, stewardship and fellowship. One will work with the church staff to provide opportunities for members to engage in worship, discipleship, and mission. Will be expected to assist with the morale of the church and to assist families with the loss of a loved one.

Accountability : The interim minister/pastor is accountable to the Central Christian Church congregation and the vision of the Christian Church – Disciples of Christ.

• To provide an outstanding biblically based preaching ministry to a church in transition.
• To preach, lead in worship, and provide a teaching ministry that will lead to the spiritual growth of the members and awaken them to an active outreach to their neighbors.
• To support the church’s ministries, committees and other groups, including the church board and pastoral relations committee.
• To lead and inspire the congregation in the development of new ministries, motivating the lay leaders of the church and being available as a resource person to them.
• To administer the sacrament of Communion and Baptism.
• To officiate at weddings and funerals of members.
• To possess skills in dealing with people and to be willing to communicate openly with church members.
  

Qualifications

• Graduate of recognized seminary or divinity school.
• Ordained Minster/Pastor
• Experience as a called pastor and/or interim pastor.
• Skills in effective interpersonal and communication
  

Delineation of Hours for part time interim pastor will be decided on by both parties.
