The minimum salary is $23.339 per hour

This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION



The purpose of this classification is to supervise individuals on probation and ensure compliance with court ordered terms which may include monitoring, counseling, and conducting probation and work release interviews.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises probationers through meetings to ensure they are compliant, provide information, and enter that information into the database as well as interview new probationers
  • Attends court proceedings to report information about the probationer and their case and meet with judges to discuss probation issues, work release, or electronic monitoring
  • Prepares warrants and summons for non-compliant probationers
  • Conducts probation, electronic monitoring, and work release interviews
  • Collects money for probation fees, restitution, and work release
  • Conducts other investigations as needed by judges
  • Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION



All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

To be obtained within the first year of employment

  • CPR
  • First Aid

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
  • For positions located within the Division of Community Corrections, must be a United States citizen; must be at least 21 years of age; subject to extended duty hours and a 24-hour call back; subject to shift work holidays and weekend duty; must not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor; and, subject to an extensive background check, polygraph examination and biannual tuberculosis testing.
  • Subject to shift work, extended duty hours, twenty-four hour call-back, holiday and weekend duty.
