The MRS AI Knowledge team is at the forefront of innovation in content understanding, user understanding, retrieval, and ranking. As a key driver of Meta's app growth, we are committed to revolutionizing recommendation systems by leveraging the latest advancements in AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI. We're dedicated to pushing the boundaries of recommendation systems to deliver user experiences across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and more.
AI Research Scientist - MRS AI Responsibilities:
- Collaborate, and execute on research that pushes forward the state of the art in large language model research
- Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, developing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results
- Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts
- Help identify long-term research goals as well as intermediate milestones
- Prioritize research that can be applied to Meta's product development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field
- 1+ year(s) of industry work experience with an emphasis on AI Research in natural language understanding, machine learning, deep learning, or related fields
- Experience with language model training (ie. LLMs) or related ML/AI model training
- Experience working with machine learning libraries like Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience focused in multimodal models, reinforcement learning, and/or reasoning
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by publications at leading workshops, journals or conferences such as ICASSP, INTERSPEECH, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or similar
- Experience taking ideas from research to production
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and different perspectives to determine a path forward
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
