Are you a senior-level data engineer who thrives in fast-growing, data-driven environments? We're supporting a global fintech and digital currency platform in their search for a Senior Data Engineer to help scale and optimize their analytics and data infrastructure. This is a full-time, long-term contractor role, ideal for someone who wants ownership, autonomy, and meaningful impact while working remotely.

This opportunity is being supported by Veta Virtual, who will manage the initial screening process before introducing qualified candidates directly to the client for interviews and hiring.

Your Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer , you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You'll collaborate closely with data engineers, software engineers, and product leaders to design, build, and scale reliable data systems that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across a global operation.

You will take ownership of core data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance across large and complex datasets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Designing, building, and optimizing data models and databases to support analytical and reporting needs.
• Performing data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
• Building and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensuring data quality through governance practices, validation processes, and integrity checks.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, and product teams.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members in a collaborative, high-performing environment.
• Supporting additional data initiatives and projects as needed.

✅ What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Java for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.
• Experience retrieving and processing data from APIs.
• Hands-on experience with: Big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster), GitLab, DBT, Terraform, Liquibase.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, d3.js) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What We Offer:

• Monthly compensation in USD: $5,000 – $5,830 per month , depending on experience.
• Full-time commitment: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
