Fusion HCR is Hiring!!!
Position Title:
Sr. Workday Technology Initiatives Analyst Location: Las Vegas, NV (Hybrid Preferred) – Open to llinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Employment Type: Contract to hire
Summary
We are seeking a Senior Workday Technology Initiatives Analyst to play a critical role in supporting Workday HCM, Payroll, and HR functions. Unlike a traditional business analyst role, this position requires a highly hands-on, technical leader who can work independently to configure Workday, resolve complex tickets, and partner directly with HR and Payroll stakeholders. This is a senior-level, team-of-one position—ideal for someone confident in both technical execution and business communication, including mentoring end users and presenting to the C-Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Workday HCM & Payroll support resource for configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
- Act as a team of one: independently own analysis, configuration, testing, and deployment with minimal support.
- Partner directly with HR, Payroll, and Finance to identify system gaps, resolve tickets, and optimize workflows.
- Mentor and train HR/Payroll business users on Workday functionality, serving as the go-to SME.
- Communicate effectively with executives and stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and system capabilities.
- Manage system enhancements, business rules, and reporting within Workday.
- Lead vendor discussions, evaluate solutions, and manage escalations as needed.
- Maintain compliance with system governance, security, and release/change management.
- Provide direction and knowledge transfer to less experienced staff when applicable.
- Continue to support broader technology initiatives and business process improvements across the enterprise.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of business/technical analyst experience with minimum 4+ years hands-on Workday HCM and Payroll configuration.
- Proven ability to work independently as the sole Workday analyst/administrator.
- Strong understanding of HR/Payroll processes and how to translate them into Workday functionality.
- Experience managing tickets, troubleshooting configurations, and implementing solutions with little oversight.
- Excellent communication skills—able to train business users and present confidently to senior leadership/C-Suite.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR) and release/change management best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, HRIS, or related field preferred.
