Job Description

Job Summary

The Festival & Events Support Assistant is a key team member supporting the successful delivery of events hosted by the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). Events include Christmas Capital of Texas, GrapeFest, Main Street Fest, North Pole Express, and Grapevine Vintage Railroad (GVRR) trains. This role combines manual labor, logistical support, and public-facing customer service to ensure a high-level guest experience.

Essential Functions

  1. Event Operations Support

    • Assist with setup, delivery, stocking, operation, and teardown for CVB events and festivals.

    • Prepare event areas by setting up signage, booths, tents, decorations, tables, chairs, and other infrastructure as directed.

  2. Public-Facing Roles

    • Serve as gate attendant, queue line attendant, usher, ticket taker, information booth attendant, or other assigned guest services roles.

    • Provide directional assistance, distribute promotional materials, and deliver exceptional customer service.

  3. Clerical and Administrative Assistance

    • Assemble promotional packets, place signage/posters, answer phones, sort, collate, and prepare event kits.

    • Assist with basic data entry, inventory counts, and supply organization as needed by the Festival and Events team.

  4. Facility and Storage Support

    • Assist with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining festival, event, and Christmas storage facilities to ensure readiness and safety.

  5. Vendor Service

    • May coordinate with vendors and ensure they comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.

  6. Team Collaboration

    • Provide back-of-house preparation support, organize deliveries for full-time staff, and perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth event execution.

    • Interact professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and stakeholders.

    • Perform other related duties as assigned when such duties are logical and appropriate to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience in events, festivals, hospitality, customer service, or related fields desirable.

  • Ability to perform manual labor including lifting, moving, and setting up equipment.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
