Job Description

Shangri-La Springs, in the heart of downtown Bonita Springs, is a historic center for vitality through healing arts and nature. That ethos permeates all aspects of the property, from the full-service organic spa to the certified organic farm-to-table restaurant that utilizes produce grown on the property itself.

We are seeking a Director of Events with experience in event sales and a passion for customer service to join our team at Shangri-La Springs.

The Director of Events will:

• Solicit new and exciting accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
• Have an extensive knowledge of the property’s offerings to share with guests and employees
• Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
• Proactively seek out feedback from employees and customers to seek out respective levels of satisfaction.
• Facilitate department-wide performance evaluation and training when necessary and administering disciplinary action with employees in a positive and constructive manner.
• And other duties as assigned

 
The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of three year’s experience in wedding and event sales
• Maintain a positive and customer service focused attitude
• Be self-directed, and able to both give and receive direction clearly

 
This position entails physical labor consistent with working in a hotel, and may include standing for prolonged periods, stair-climbing, lifting, pulling, or pushing items up to 25lbs. 

This is a full-time opportunity, schedule TBD in conjunction with General Manager, but the Director of Events can expect to work many nights and weekends.
