We’re looking for senior tradespeople with geotechnical construction experience including: soil nailing, micropiles, shotcrete, rock drilling, grouting, and case drilling. This is a travel job with projects across the US. Crews work a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule.

 

All of our work is geotechnical, including geohazard projects like landslide repair, mudslide repair and erosion control, where experienced tradespeople play a critical role in our success.

Responsibilities

  1. Working with a Superintendent and teammates, apply your skills effectively to get work done efficiently, safely and correctly.
  2. Work in your specialty area but be willing and able to contribute any work that helps drive project success.
  3. Travel across the US to do work. We travel on 3-week on, 1-week off or 5-day on, 2-day off schedules depending on the location of the crew member and the work.
  4. Learn and apply new skills so you can do more: machines, soils technology, specialty techniques, leadership and problem-solving principles.

Qualifications

  1. 2+ years of geotechnical or civil construction experience
  2. Heavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, excavator, concrete/grout pump, etc.)
  3. Equipment cleanup and maintenance.
  4. Experience with casing, rock drilling or similar.
  5. At least one year of traveling construction labor experience.
  6. At least one year of working outside in all conditions.
  7. Ability to understand and meet daily production targets.
  8. A history of problem solving; the ability to grasp a problem, see a solution, and do whatever it takes to get the problem solved.
  9. A history of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools.
  10. Ability to be on time, all the time, every time.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  1. Climates vary in degrees, in tropical to desert environments.
  2. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is often required.
  3. Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  4. Regular heavy lifting (75lbs+) of construction materials on the job site.

Compensation

  1. This is a GMT3 job posting. The wage for that role is $24 - $26/hour
  2. Hourly rate based on your experience. In general, our pay scale increases for:
  3. More years of experience and technical expertise with the tools and technologies in drilling.
  4. Ability to drive (CMV or CDL)
  5. Experience or certifications for heavy equipment operations (skid steer, forklift, Bobcat, Scissor lift, or CDL vehicles.)
  6. Experience with shotcrete or grouting pumps on the job.
  7. Experience directing teams, managing customer interactions, or managing projects.
  8. All positions earn overtime
  9. 100% paid travel
