Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Inspector I – Plumbing to perform routine inspections and quality verification of plumbing systems on-site.

The role supports the QC Engineer by inspecting installations, verifying compliance with project drawings, specifications, and plumbing codes, and assisting in documentation and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of domestic water, drainage, venting, storm, and sanitary piping systems under the supervision of a senior inspector or QC Engineer.
  • Verify installation quality and materials against IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, and method statements.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC (International Plumbing Code), UPC, ASME A112, NSF, and local plumbing regulations.
  • Assist in witnessing pressure, flow, and leak tests on water supply and drainage systems.
  • Record inspection results in checklists, daily reports, and photo logs, and track progress on punch lists.
  • Monitor installation of valves, fittings, traps, pumps, water heaters, and sanitary fixtures for correct orientation and labeling.
  • Identify and report non-conformances to QA/QC for review; support corrective action verification.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Safety, and QA/QC teams to maintain site compliance and cleanliness.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and promote safe work practices during inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
  • 0–3 years of field inspection or plumbing construction experience.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, components, and installation standards.
  • Familiarity with IPC, UPC, and ASME plumbing codes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and communication skills.
  • Physically fit for fieldwork including inspections in mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and roof areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.
  • Experience assisting in hydrostatic or air pressure testing of piping systems.
  • Familiarity with backflow prevention, sanitary drainage, and water conservation standards.
  • Knowledge of fixture unit calculations, slope verification, and vent system inspection.
