JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Title: Painters Steady Work year-round Job
Description Perform painting functions for residential and commercial clients, specializing remodeling and re- construction and existing buildings. The majority of work involves interior walls but also includes exterior painting. Projects are within a 40-mile radius of Madison, utilizing brushes, rollers, and spray guns to apply various paint coatings to industrial and commercial facilities. Responsibilities Perform painting tasks using brushes, rollers, and spray guns, specifically HPLV Airless Sprayers, on large industrial projects. Prepare surfaces accurately, including cleaning, sanding, and priming. Apply expert knowledge of different painting techniques and materials. Ensure smooth, even finishes with keen attention to detail. Follow safety procedures and use protective gear properly. Read and interpret blueprints or specifications for accurate project execution. Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Adapt to working on ladders, scaffolding, or in tight spaces, requiring physical stamina and dexterity. Communicate effectively with clients and other contractors. Solve problems and adapt to unexpected challenges on the job. Essential Skills 2+ years of painting experience. 2+ year of commercial painting experience. Proficiency in painting techniques, including airless spraying, brush and rolling, and cutting in without tape. Experience in job site prep work and clean up. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with multi-family buildings. Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and plumbers, to ensure job success. Inspect construction work on site to ensure its adherence to the design plans. Measure and mark surfaces to lay out work, according to blueprints or drawings, using tape measures, straightedges or squares, and marking devices. Fit and fasten wallboard or drywall into position on wood or metal frameworks, using glue, nails, or screws. Measure and cut openings in panels or tiles for electrical outlets, windows, vents, plumbing, or other fixtures, using keyhole saws or other cutting tools. Assemble or install metal framing or decorative trim for windows, doorways, or vents. Cut metal or wood framing and trim to size, using cutting tools. Inspect furrings, mechanical mountings, or masonry surfaces for plumbness and level, using spirit or water levels. Cut and screw together metal channels to make floor or ceiling frames, according to plans for the location of rooms or hallways. Hang drywall panels on metal frameworks of walls and ceilings in offices, schools, or other large buildings, using lifts or hoists to adjust panel heights, when necessary. Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knives. Coordinate work with drywall finishers who cover the seams between drywall panels.
