Private Family in Sea Girt, NJ Seeking a Live-In Companion

Position: Full-Time Live-In Companion (Alzheimer’s Care)
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday or Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | Live-In required (overnight stay included)
Salary: $35/hour (paid through payroll)
Start Date: ASAP
Relocation: No – local candidates or those able to relocate independently

About the Family

A warm and welcoming private family located in Sea Girt, NJ is looking to hire a dedicated and compassionate live-in caregiver to support their 70-year-old loved one who is living with Alzheimer’s disease. The family values discretion, dependability, and experience in Alzheimer’s care. This is a live-in position for five days per week, with private accommodations provided. The family is seeking someone who can grow with them long-term and become a trusted member of the household.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and daily routines, including dressing, grooming, and reminders for hygiene (e.g., brushing teeth)
  • Prepare and serve healthy, home-cooked meals daily
  • Provide compassionate companionship and mental stimulation suitable for Alzheimer’s care
  • Ensure safety, monitor for changes in behavior or needs, and maintain a calm environment
  • Light housekeeping related to the client’s daily needs ( laundry, vacumming, make beds)
  • Drive to appointments or outings as needed (vehicle provided)
  • Be present overnight for emergency support only (client rarely wakes during the night)

    Must be willing to travel within the United States

They are nurturing, calm under pressure, and confident managing day-to-day care needs with respect and dignity. A passion for senior care, a positive demeanor, and strong communication skills are essential. The family is looking for someone who is a long-term fit and will bring peace of mind, reliability, and warmth to their home.

Requirements

  • Prior experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia in a private household
  • Excellent references
  • Legal to work in the United States
  • Driver’s license with clean driving record (vehicle provided)
  • Able to prepare healthy meals
  • Willing to live in 5 days/week and stay overnight (private bedroom provided)
  • Must be willing to work on 6 major holidays with time and a half pay ( Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July)
