Job Description

Prominent individual is seeking a proactive, hands-on, discreet and reliable Live-In Housekeeper/Cook to manage and maintain their Southampton Estate while the principal is in residence as well as minding the property in their absence. Private living accommodations will be provided, complete with a separate apartment and separate service entrance with access to the beachfront and other amenities. This will serve as the candidates’ permanent private residence, 7 days per week. This position requires overriding flexibility to work long hours as needed during the summer months with the understanding that there will be a much lighter schedule in the winter. Must be willing and able to incorporate a flexible schedule in accordance with the principal’s needs.

This Housekeeper will report to the primary of the residence and will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the home as well as providing simple, healthy meal service and pantry stocking. The Housekeeper will assist in the daily management, upkeep, care, and stock procurement of the residence as well as any personal assistance duties that may arise. Strong organizational and task prioritization skills are a MUST to succeed in this role. In addition to excellent verbal and written communication, the ideal candidate must have a proactive rather than reactive mindset, understanding the need for continuous maintenance and handling numerous smaller projects on a daily basis.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating hands-on approach to the daily house maintenance
  • General care and upkeep of residence, assisting with general and deep cleaning when needed
  • Assisting with the coordination of special events
  • Providing formal and informal service as well meal preparation
  • Additional general Housekeeper and Cook duties upon request

Requirements:

  • Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree PREFERRED
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Minimum 3-5+ years related experience working for a HNWI including LIVE-IN experience
  • Hands-on service-oriented attitude with “no task is too big or too small”
  • Proactive and detail-oriented in all aspects of caretaking and maintenance of the residence
  • Extremely well-versed in all areas of service and management both formal and informal
  • Polished, poised and professional in both mindset and manor, use of utmost discretion at all times
  • Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to work long hours and overtime as needed
  • Physically agile; able to navigate an expansive estate
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in smart home systems, smartphones, etc.
  • Valid Driver’s License: confident driver with zero points on license, own vehicle preferred
  • Legally able to work within the United States
