The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) is currently recruiting for a Probation Monitor.
Under the general direction of Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) SSM I, the AGPA frequently interprets laws, rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the Business and Professions Code, Health and Safety Code, Code of Civil Procedures, Penal Code, and Government Code.

This job is a full-time office position located in Natomas with free parking. Teleworking is not available.
Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.
Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
The incumbent should possess good oral and written communication skills; aptitude for investigative work; manage time and workload effectively; and be responsive to BVNPT and Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) management needs. Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential part of the position.

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required, and applicants must include one. The SOQ is a narrative discussion prepared by the applicant describing how the applicant's knowledge, abilities, education, training, and experience qualify them for the position. BVNPT will not consider applicants who fail to provide an SOQ with their application. Resumes do not take place of the SOQ. 1. Describe your experience managing a caseload or assigned workload and the techniques used to manage your time so time-sensitive deadlines were met.
2. Describe your experience investigating complaints and what resources you used to overcome obstacles.
