Project Manager/Estimator for Electrical Contractor

Under general supervision, responsible for the overall execution and performance of complex commercial and/or industrial electrical construction and retrofit projects. Responsible for following consistent and repeatable project management standardized procedures and processes. Responsible for financial results of projects and activities assigned. Maintains customer satisfaction while balancing project financial goals.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Under general supervision, coordinates resources to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and completes assigned projects or tasks. 
• Ensures profitable completion of each project or task. 
• Effectively manages cost and billing. 
• Consistently produces billings in a timely and accurate manner in the format required by our customers and ensures that they are clearly communicated to our customers. 
• Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow. Understands and provides input on cost allocation to financial reporting systems. 
• Effectively communicates financial status to management.
• Manages and provides documentation for the project file including correspondence, requests for information, and timelines by adhering to company standards.
• Manages the engineering job process. When required by the field management, configures, designs, and engineers systems in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. 
• Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, materials, installation techniques, and safety activities. 
• Manages material procurement process for the projects assigned. 
• May select and order appropriate materials. Monitor material usage and cost. 
• Compiles estimates for projects in the bidding process. 
• Does takeoff from prints to create lists of needed materials. Secures bids from vendors and/or subcontractors for materials and/or services. 
• Uses computer estimating program to generate detailed bids.
• Creates engineered drawings for design/build projects.
• Understands NEC and incorporates such into drawings for plan approval and review.
