Job Title : Senior Network Design & Implementation Engineer (Cisco, Extreme, Aruba)

Job Type : C2C

Experience : 7-15 Years

Location : Chicago, Illinois

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in network engineering.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs , etc.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, and Extreme Networks (mandatory).

• Experience in network virtualization, automation ( Ansible, Python, Terraform ).

• Experience with cloud networking ( AWS, Azure ) and SD-WAN solutions.

• Experience with network segmentation and Zero Trust architecture.

• Experience working in enterprise or large-scale infrastructure environments.

• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.

• Familiarity with network monitoring and management platforms.

• Understanding of wireless deployment and troubleshooting techniques.

• Must have valid CCNA (or equivalent); CCNP/CCIE/CCDP is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed network documentation, including design diagrams, implementation plans, and standard operating procedures.

• Evaluate and recommend networking hardware and software (Cisco, Aruba, Extreme).

• Perform network capacity planning and performance tuning.

• Design and implement LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions, including for Cisco, Extreme, and Aruba networks.

• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.

• Implement routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and VLAN segmentation.

• Deploy and maintain wireless networks (Cisco, Aruba) and LAN switching (Cisco, Extreme).

• Execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.

• Automate routine tasks using scripting tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform preferred).

• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, etc.

• Diagnose and resolve network performance, connectivity, or configuration issues.

• Maintain accurate network documentation and inventory.

• Provide Tier 3 support and participate in on-call rotation as needed.

• Enforce network security best practices and implement access control policies.

• Conduct vulnerability scans and security assessments.

• Support compliance initiatives and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering, computer science, or any other related field.
