What You Will Do
The Spanish Interpreter is a professional who works with non-English speaking clients of The Coordinating Center. Our Interpreters act as conduits between the clients, the Clinical Care Coordinators, and other coworkers by listening to the coworker and orally translating information into the client’s native language in lay terms. The Interpreter then translates the client’s response back to the coworker, using proper medical terminology. Interpreters will participate in site visits (in person or virtually) when requested, interpret over the phone, and occasionally engage in correspondence with clients.
As a Spanish Interpreter you will:
• Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into Spanish language orally or written, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible.
• Listen to clients' statements to determine meanings and to prepare translations.
• Read written materials, such as written communications from The Coordinating Center and rewrite material into specified languages.
• Triage incoming calls to The Coordinating Center in the specified language.
• Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.
• Check translations of terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions.
• Refer to reference materials, as needed, to ensure translation accuracy.
• Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of client information.
Why Join Us
